Product Details

Ingrediants: Equisetum arvense, Menstrum
Diuretic: One of the most common and studied uses, horsetail acts as a "water pill"
to increase urine output, which helps flush the urinary tract. This makes it a traditional remedy for minor bladder and kidney ailments, such as infections and kidney stones. Clinical data suggests it has a diuretic effect comparable to some conventional medications without significant electrolyte loss.
  • Bone and Connective Tissue Health: Due to its high concentration of silica
  • (silicon), horsetail is used in traditional practice to strengthen bones, cartilage,
  • and connective tissue. It is often suggested for conditions like osteoporosis, brittle nails, and hair loss, though more high-quality clinical research is needed to fully support these uses.
  • Wound Healing: Applied topically as an ointment or wash, horsetail has astringent and anti-inflammatory properties that help stop bleeding and promote the healing of wounds, burns, and ulcers. One clinical trial found that a 3% horsetail ointment improved pain intensity and wound healing following an episiotomy in postpartum mothers.
  • Anti-inflammatory and Antioxidant Effects: Compounds in horsetail may have antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties that help protect against cell damage and manage inflammatory disorders.
  • Other Traditional Uses: Historically, it has also been used as a folk remedy for tuberculosis, gout, arthritis, and heavy menstrual periods, but clinical evidence for most of these conditions is lacking.

Precautions:

Do not take if pregnant or nursing. Avoid use in people with liver or kidney disease, high blood pressure, or heart disease, gout, thaimain defiecient individuals. Children should not take horsetail. Horsetail should not be taken internally for more than three days. Long-term use or high doses of horsetail have caused irreversible kidney damage due to too much silica. Wear a dust mask when grinding to prevent inhaling silica dust.
